Ashley Brooks
Ashley Simon Brooks is Of Counsel at Roth Jackson Gibbons Condlin, PLC. Her legal practice focuses on advertising and ad tech, media, and marketing including artificial intelligence (AI), data and privacy, NIL and other licensing and copyright issues. She also has extensive experience drafting compliant privacy and other website and app policies, disclaimers, and terms of service. Ms. Brooks works with a variety of clients across multiple industries to address changing and emerging technologies, drafting and negotiating contracts, and providing counseling and compliance training.
Prior to joining Roth Jackson, Ms. Brooks was the managing partner at a nationally recognized entertainment law firm where she worked with publishers, authors, recording artists and record labels, and handled a variety of literary, entertainment and media issues. Prior to that, she spent fifteen years as in-house counsel.
Ms. Brooks is also an adjunct professor at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business, Executive MBA program and has spoken about advertising law at the VCU Brandcenter as well as other marketing and advertising organizations. She has been a guest speaker at the American Marketing Association and the Richmond Ad Club. She mentors at Startup Virginia, serves on two non-profit boards – the Weinstein Jewish Community Center and CultureWorks, and is an active member of the Richmond creative and arts community.
She is a graduate of Douglas Freeman High School, Washington and Lee University (1997) and University of Richmond School of Law (2001).
